Speaking of mason jars and canning… a fresh batch of books recently arrived at our Mississippi shop including two books on making your own preserves! The delicious recipes cover the basics and include some more adventurous (and mouth-watering!) flavors like rose hip jelly, lemon and fig marmalade, pear and chocolate jam or pumpkin and vanilla jam. There are even recipes for chutneys, relishes, pickles, nectar and chutneys. Who wants to have a canning party?!
